For straightforward free Swiss invoicing, Entreprendre.ch is our first choice. KLARA and bexio suit businesses seeking a broader accounting and administration suite. Zervant can suit a small customer base, but its current English and French offers differ and require particular attention.

Commercial package prices exclude VAT where stated by the provider. Commitment, modules and promotions can change the final cost. A free trial of a paid suite is not a permanently free invoicing plan.

Entreprendre.ch: free Swiss invoicing

The Entreprendre.ch invoicing software runs in a browser and lets users maintain customers, prepare quotes, convert accepted quotes into invoices and generate Swiss QR-bills. Invoices can use CHF or other currencies and IBAN payment details.

There is no subscription, payment card requirement or obligation to buy accounting services. Add your logo, export PDFs, mark invoices paid and track outstanding amounts. The provider states that data is stored in Switzerland.

It focuses on invoicing. Full bookkeeping, payroll and advanced bank reconciliation may require a broader solution. An English product page is available; confirm the application and invoice-template language options for your workflow before importing customer data.

KLARA: a broader Swiss business suite

KLARA combines accounting, customer relationship management and order processing. Depending on the package and modules, it also covers budgets, time, projects, inventory and payroll. This can reduce transfers between separate systems.

It should not be described as permanently free invoicing. The official price page advertises Business Basic from CHF 48 per month, subject to the selected terms, with a trial offering. Check the paid modules, user limits and trial conditions.

bexio: invoicing, banking and accounting

bexio provides quotes, invoices, reminders and Swiss QR-bills alongside customer, product, expense and accounting functions. Bank connections can help reconcile incoming payments, and its ecosystem supports collaboration with accountants.

The Basic package is advertised at CHF 35 per month with annual billing or CHF 45 with monthly billing, excluding VAT. A 30-day trial is available. Payroll, user counts and other features depend on the package or add-ons.

English product and help pages are available, including documentation on user and document language settings. Check the chosen workflow during the trial rather than assuming every third-party integration has the same language coverage. Compare bexio’s English package information.

Zervant: check the exact offer before signing up

Zervant provides online invoicing and estimates, with mobile access and English-language support. Its English pricing page currently lists a free plan for five customers and five invoices per month, with unlimited estimates.

The French pricing page instead presents unlimited invoices for five customers, links registration to Shine and describes Shine Facture as gradually succeeding Zervant. It advertises Start from CHF 9 per month billed annually, while the English Zervant page lists Starter at CHF 10.99 per month billed annually or CHF 12.99 monthly.

These are materially different offers. Confirm which product, limits, trial and CHF price apply to your Swiss account. Do not assume the French free-plan conditions carry over to an English registration. Also confirm native Swiss QR-bill generation in the specific product supplied rather than relying on generic invoicing or a QR payment feature.

A translated website, an English interface and English customer documents are three different things. Run one complete example in the language you intend to use and check the help available for your account.

1. Swiss QR-bills: verify native output meeting the Swiss payment standard, including your payment details.
2. Quote to payment: create a quote, convert it where supported, issue an invoice and record settlement.
3. Invoicing versus accounting: invoicing tracks sales documents; bookkeeping also records purchases, VAT, entries and financial statements such as the balance sheet.
4. Long-term cost: inspect customer, invoice, user, reminder, banking and export limits, including the price after a trial.
5. Data protection and exit: review hosting, backups, encryption, two-factor authentication, permissions and usable exports.
