Romain Prieur founded Karpeo in Geneva in 2018. Sarah Prieur joined him as a partner in 2023. Both are Swiss certified accountants and former PwC auditors. Our mission is to give SMEs, self-employed professionals and company founders the technical standards of a large firm with the accessibility of a close-knit team.
Our story
The name Karpeo comes from Karpos, the fruit of one’s work.How can Swiss entrepreneurs succeed without being overwhelmed by accounting and tax complexity?
After eight years in audit at PwC Switzerland, Romain Prieur founded Karpeo in 2018 to work more directly with business owners. His aim was to apply the same standards of reliability expected by large groups to SMEs, while keeping advice closely connected to day-to-day business decisions.
Sarah Prieur, also a former PwC auditor and Swiss certified accountant, joined Karpeo as a partner in 2023. She now oversees engagement quality and the team’s day-to-day organisation.
Why Karpeo?
Karpos means “the fruit of one’s work” and “the result of an action”. It captures our role: helping entrepreneurs see the outcome of their decisions, understand what needs to change and benefit from sound management.
We do not add complexity. We make the important issues visible at the right time.
