Karpeo on Léman Bleu TV: the digital transformation of accounting
Karpeo joined Léman Bleu’s 3D ECO programme to discuss how digital tools are changing accounting firms and the support they provide to businesses. This English edition revisits that appearance and the ideas behind a more useful, connected accounting service.
Karpeo’s appearance on 3D ECO
Karpeo was invited to Léman Bleu TV to discuss a subject central to its approach: the digital transformation of accounting and fiduciary services.
The broadcaster’s archive dates the programme to 16 November 2020 and lists Romain Prieur, founder of Karpeo and Counteo, alongside Olivier Moullet and Jérôme Chincarini. The programme is in French.

This is a look back at that media appearance, not an announcement of a new broadcast. The English article is by Sarah Prieur; Romain was Karpeo’s guest on the programme.
Digital accounting: changing how firms work with clients
Digital tools have opened up new ways for accounting firms to exchange documents, organise work and provide financial information. For businesses, the potential benefit is a clearer relationship with their accountant and less time spent on repetitive administration.
Karpeo adopted a digital approach from its early years. The original French article described the firm as supporting more than one hundred companies and self-employed clients and referred to a feature in PME Magazine. Those are historical statements from that article, not a current client count or a new media announcement.
The underlying idea remains practical: technology should help make accounting information easier to access and more useful for running a business. It should also leave more room for professional analysis and discussion.
Accounting teams need technical knowledge and digital skills
As the profession evolves, so do the skills required of accounting teams. Accounting and financial knowledge remain essential. Digital tools add a need to understand software, adapt to changing workflows and explain the results to clients.
Professional development therefore remains important; EXPERTsuisse’s continuing education programme is one source of training for the profession.
An accountant’s work extends beyond entering invoices and recording debits and credits. It also involves interpreting information and supporting decisions about finance, tax and business management. Our guide to what an accountant does for a Swiss business explains these responsibilities in more detail.
Putting the client experience at the centre
The original article highlighted financial dashboards and direct messaging between clients and their accounting team. These tools can make information easier to understand and questions easier to resolve.
However, a dashboard is useful only if the underlying information is sufficiently complete and up to date. Its reliability depends on documents being supplied, transactions being processed and the necessary checks being performed. “Real-time” access should not be confused with a guarantee that every figure has already been reviewed or that the accounts are final.
For an entrepreneur, the useful questions are concrete: what has been updated, what is still missing, what does the result mean and which action should follow? A cash-flow forecast and a clear income statement can support different parts of that discussion.
Technology makes communication easier, but the relationship with the team remains central. A shared tool works best when everyone knows how to submit documents, who handles questions and when information will be reviewed.
Using accounting as a management tool
Karpeo’s approach is to help entrepreneurs use their accounts to understand their activity, rather than treat bookkeeping only as an administrative obligation. That organisation is worth considering from the start of a business.
When choosing an accounting firm in Switzerland, discuss both its digital tools and the people supporting you. Clarify the scope of work, the information you will receive and how advice fits into the service.
