An accounting firm should make figures understandable
A business owner should understand the work being done, know their deadlines and have sufficiently recent figures to make decisions.
Digital tools serve human expertise
Tools reduce repetitive tasks and speed up communication. They replace neither analysis nor the responsibility of an identifiable expert.
Teaching demands precision
Teaching, videos and public speaking require checking rules, explaining them clearly and distinguishing general principles from specific cases.
My vision of the profession
From Big Four audit to an accounting firm close to entrepreneurs.
Karpeo grew from a desire to preserve the rigour learned in audit while creating more direct relationships with SME owners.
Good accounting information should not only describe the past. It should help the owner choose the next action.
What auditing at PwC taught me
During eight years at PwC Switzerland, I worked on financial audits of SMEs and international groups. I developed an approach based on documentation, fact checking and traceable conclusions.
I obtained the Swiss federal accountancy diploma in 2018 after a Master’s in Finance at EDHEC. This training remains the technical foundation of my accounting, tax and business structuring work.
Why I founded Karpeo
I founded Karpeo in 2018 to apply these standards to entrepreneurs who need an available contact and answers suited to their circumstances. Today the firm supports SMEs, self-employed professionals, holding companies and founders in Geneva and French-speaking Switzerland.
Our digital organisation accelerates document collection and follow-up. Responsibility for advice remains with identifiable, qualified professionals.
Entreprendre.ch, training and content
In 2020, I co-founded Entreprendre.ch to make forming LLCs, corporations and sole proprietorships more accessible. I also share explanations about Swiss tax and entrepreneurship on YouTube.
I also founded Counteo, a digital solution for accounting firms, to simplify organisation and collaboration with clients.
Alongside this, I teach at CREA and through EXPERTsuisse. Teaching requires testing explanations against practice and staying alert to changes in the Swiss framework.
